For this exploration permit application, the environmental procedure was concluded in November 2009 with the authorization from Emilia Romagna Region.

In this block hydrocarbons are most likely to be found in the sands of the Miocene, Plio-Pleistocene age deposited by turbiditic flows within the Apenninic foredeep. The traps can be structural or mixed, related to the last phases of the Apenninic orogeny.
