The area object of the exploration permit application is located in the Basilicata Region and covers a surface of 66.9 sq km. The application was awarded and published in the Official Bulletin of Hydrocarbons and Geothermal Resources No. LIV - 11 on November, 2010.
Exploration targets are the biogenic gas in Plio-Pleistocene turbiditic sands and the oil in the Cretaceous to Miocene carbonates of the Apulian Platform. The block is adjacent to major gas and oil fields, making it very attractive.
